Ward 7 Bay Candidate Othman Alhusain says “our population is growing very fast and in great numbers with people from all over Canada, people want to live here. We are a perfect city, we are having explosive population growth in the city. Bank Street is downtown, we need good transportation in the downtown. And that means rails underground and it is the best way to get people in and out of the city core.”

“Ottawa Gatineau is going to exceed 1.6 million as a population very quickly. Bank Street O-Train starts on day 1 of next city council, it’s important we get the studies and reports into the hands of Ottawa city council for the Bank Street O-Train Tunnel planning” says Ward 7 Bay Candidate Othman Alhusain.

“Our city is lacking in infrastructure and transportation. We can’t avoid the discussion, we have to start right away and get feedback from the communities. This is the best solution for the whole city. In my opinion underground is the best solution, the priority is subway followed by LRT but it must be in a tunnel.” says Candidate Othman Alhusain.

Candidate Othman Alhusain says “it’s extremely cold in the winter, and we have very heavy rain, a subway or LRT in a tunnel makes sense because people will the use the system. Bank Street is the main artery in Ottawa, it deserves an O-Train subway in my opinion because there is gridlock everywhere on Bank Street and it’s hurting the downtown and that means it is hurting our city. O-Train Subway is the solution for Bank Street from Billings Bridge to Parliament Station.”
