My father would tell me as a child: “The world will never change at the pace you want, but when it does change, it will be quicker than what anyone else thought was possible.” My dad was right, it’s like an ocean wave, you have to be paying attention to the buildup to anticipate the wave.

I don’t care what your world view might be, I care about how to take advantage of innovation and disruption in the marketplace for the benefit of the largest number of people in Canada.

Many individuals who work in government at both the federal and provincial levels in Canada; and many others who work indirectly in government related spheres for political parties or advocacy groups are people who generally love data.

In the year 2021, EV (electric vehicle)data really matters!

Planning election strategies, writing election platforms, and understanding where economic growth can exist is important. Knowing the opportunities for job creation, and ideas for increased exports are key issues that matter for government related fields and more importantly, for regular people looking for jobs and economic development. Being aware of changes in the market place and seeing innovation and disruption before others is the sign of good leadership. Currently, Canada has no leadership in government either federally or provincially - or with any possible opposition party pretending to be ready for government which is a shame.

So now, I’m going to leave you with data. Examine the numbers, like 79.9% of new registered vehicles in Norway for the month of November 2020 was EV. In Netherlands, 69% of new vehicles purchased were EV. For the month of December 2020, 50% of all new vehicle purchased in Sweden were EV. And on and on it goes.

It’s time Canada plan a serious national mining strategy between the federal government and the various provincial governments. The tremendous global demand for precious metals associated with EV batteries that exists today is a real jobs and economic opportunity for Canada. Your children and grandchildren might thank you, if you plan for today and tomorrow instead of yesterday…is anyone in Canada listening to the waves of change? See data below:
